Editing

Small isolated studio spaces away from the campus noise and the diversions of the digital world that surround them 24/7, to stimulate the audio visual senses of our budding editors.

We take pride that our editors are mentored for a finer technical appreciation of the audio visual variations for various delivery formats.

They become adept to function instinctively, even in the absence of finer infrastructure when they step into the professional world.

AISFM strives to stimulate the audio visual senses of our budding editors. We provide them small isolated studio spaces away from the campus noise and the diversions of the digital world that surround them 24/7. The long hours spent here enables them to concentrate on visual appreciation away from distractions.

We continue to periodically update our curriculum and infrastructure to include the latest applications used by film and media editors.

Edit Suites

  • Each edit suite is designed for plug & play

  • Students can plug in their laptops to the Blackmagic Intensity shuttle to activate the client and sound monitor preview

  • Allows a clutter free view of the visuals

  • Editor can progress within the maze of the timeline and various open bins in the project

  • It keeps the director from peeping into the editor’s peripheral work area

  • The studio sound monitors in every suite are better than headphones as they provide an appreciated fidelity to clearly produce every detailed sound.

Client Monitors

  • At eye level to allow editor and collaborators to view every nuance in the visuals.

  • At comfortable distance from the seating as per SMPTE recommendations.

  • Enables editor to gauge the impact of the cut better than on a smaller laptop screen.

  • Calibrated and chosen based on their capability to produce accurate visual display for 100% Adobe RGB, 100% sRGB (for digital/ new media) as well as 100% REC 709 (for HD visuals) and 98% DCI-P3 (for theatrical transmission).

  • They are calibrated to make colour differences between desired and onscreen colours indistinguishable to the human eye.

  • The extensive colour gamut of these monitors provide a high level of detail even in dark areas.

  • They have approximately 64 times more colours than standard monitors.
